Bharat’s career as a cardiac sonographer began in the late 1970’s, when most diagnosis was arrived at solely employing M-Mode echocardiography. In 4 decades, he has witnessed the expanding horizons of cardiac ultrasound to encompass 2D imaging, color Doppler, 3D, Strain and Contrast imaging.

Bharat holds multiple credentials in general sonography, cardiac sonography and vascular imaging from both the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). He has been actively involved with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) since the early 1980’s and serves on the ASE Foundation Committee. Bharat is passionate about global sonographer empowerment and has been recognized on multiple occasions for his contribution to the humanitarian goals of the ASE Foundation. He has been an active participant in multiple ASE humanitarian missions both to India and other parts of the world. In 2018, with the support of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography (IAE), he introduced annual travel grants to support the travel, registration and stay of 1 Indian sonographer during the Annual ASE Scientific Sessions in USA and 2 sonographer students to attend the annual IAE meeting in India.
