Live Demo and Hands-on

Course Overview

The Annual Sonographer Sessions @ HeartBeatcardiolive 2019 aim is to provide an overview of practical aspects of echocardiography. This half-day program will employ hands-on teaching conducted by experienced faculty. The program for 2019 will focus on performing a comprehensive, protocol-based adult examination with an introduction to advanced modalities such as 3D imaging and speckle tracking echocardiography. The course content has been mapped with curriculums of university-level echocardiography programs and a learning lab format has been designed to facilitate maximal faculty interaction and knowledge exchange.

Intended Audience

This course is designed for cardiac sonographers, non-invasive cardiac technologists, in addition to current students of allied health programs that include echocardiography.

Learning Objectives

1. Understand the basics of instrumentation and image optimization

2. Understanding image acquisition windows and nomenclature of scanning manoeuvres

3. Performing a comprehensive adult echocardiography study based on recommendations provided by the Indian Academy of Echocardiography

4. Performing a comprehensive paediatric exam based on recommendations provided by the American Society of Echocardiography

5. Introduction to Speckle tracking echocardiography
